For most of us the Olympic Games represents two brief weeks of sporting nirvana which rolls around every couple of years. While the backstories preceding events provide glimpses into the athletes’ training, they fail to fully capture the insane amount of hours that go into making a medalist.
Touch The Wall is a Kickstarter-funded documentary that follows swimmers Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce as they prepared — lap after lap after lap — for the 2012 London Olympics.
The film will have its world premiere at the 37th Starz Denver Film Festival on Saturday, November 15. Judging from the trailers the film should make a nice splash…
PICK UP THE BRONZE
Most everyone is familiar with the then seventeen-year-old Franklin’s historic performance in London. She picked up four gold medals including world records in the 200-meter backstroke and 4×100-meter medley relay.
What is less known is her appreciation for her fifth medal — a bronze from the 4×100-meter freestyle event.
