For his video project, Walls, UK BMX legend Sebastian Keep made it his mission to touch his tires on some of the most unique places in the UK.
Demonstrating what can be achieved with creativity, guts and carefully planned logistics – Walls showcases some of the most audacious gap-to-wallrides ever attempted, and redefines BMX progression in the process.
BEHIND THE SCENES
The action in Walls runs just over four minutes in length, but it was years in the making. Keep used Google Earth to scout suitable locations for his death-defying jumps, with none as visually impressive — or insane — as the jump from the Croydon flyover.
The jump involved Keep riding his bike at just the right speed off a kicker set up at the edge of the bridge leading into the Wandle Car Park, flying 20 feet to the structure, then riding/falling down the wall to a steeply angled quarter ramp.
“At the spot in Croydon nobody knew if it was possible to ride down 20 feet of vertical wall. After speaking to various pro riders who didn't have an answer for us, we decided to try it.”
POST PREMIERE
Following the premiere of Walls, Keep revealed that he had trained his body for the video by running daily in the early morning to coincide with optimal shoot times.
