If NBC’s The Voice was a football game instead of a singing competition, Zach Seabaugh would be sprinting for the end zone with a number of defenders left sprawled in his wake. The onetime running back for the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs football team advanced to the final twelve Wednesday night after his Tuesday night performance of “Brand New Girlfriend” won universal praise from the show’s judges.
Seabaugh’s hip-gyrating performance in the Live Playoffs earned him a nickname upgrade from “Superman” to “Elvis” from coach Blake Shelton. Which means Seabaugh’s young fans may have to rethink their complimentary costumes.

While Seabaugh has excelled on The Voice, his former team struggled this season to a 2-8 record. They dropped their game last Friday to North Cobb by a score of 38-14. Should Seabaugh make it all the way to the The Voice Finale, it would go a long way toward restoring the Mustangs giddy up.
