Pittsburgh is likely to secure a wild-card berth in the playoffs, thanks, in no small part, to the play of Evgeni Malkin. The six-foot-three Russian is second on the team with 23 goals and 49 points, having played two fewer games than Sidney Crosby (24 goals, 53 points).
