Midway through the NFL season the Redskins are still the Redskins, and new voices are still weighing in on the wisdom (or lack thereof) in sticking with the name.

Earlier in the week it was lifelong Skins-fan and Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey putting in his two cents with the pro keeping-the-name camp. First, the actor explained how a boy from Texas ends up rooting for the Washington team.

In the November issue of GQ, McConaughey complains: “We were fine with it since the 1930s, and all of the sudden we go, ‘No, gotta change it’? It seems like when the levee breaks, everybody gets on board.”

“I know a lot of Native Americans don’t have a problem with it, but they’re not going to say, 'No, we really want the name.' That’s not how they’re going to use their pulpit.”

Comedian Hari Kondabolu uses humor for a different take on the issue…

Kondabolu encourages viewers of his video to tweet alternative logos for the franchise using the hashtag #NewRedskinsLogo, and the results have already started to pour in.
