This past Friday, Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson tweeted the receipt for a dinner at the fittingly named Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House in Philly. The damage was $17,747.86. The victims? The Eagles rookies.

Assuming they weren’t feasting on eagles themselves (they weren’t), how could such a tab be racked up? Actually, quite easily. A single bottle of Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon came in at $3,495, and there were a few more alcoholic drinks each costing in the thousands. At the other end of the price scale, the cheapest items on the receipt were caramelized onion and sautéed mushroom add ons at $3.00 apiece.
For a team looking to improve upon a 10-7 season, it’s possible the steak dinner was part of a new-fangled training program hatched by the team’s weight coaches. But if they watched Family Guy, they would know that it’s a steak-and-eggs breakfast that really counts.
