The original TV movie “Sharknado” was a bit of a hit for the Syfy channel, so naturally they’re serving up a second helping. In “Sharknado 2”, Ian Ziering (best known for playing Steve Sanders in “Beverly Hills, 90210”) reprises the film’s lead role as the none-too-subtly-named Fin Shepard.

In an advance clip from the schlocky sequel, Fin rushes to Citi Field to warn Mark McGrath (best known as Sugar Ray’s alterna-hunk lead singer) of the impending storm.

“We've got to get out of here. There's a storm coming and it's going to hit — and it's going to hit hard.”

COULD A SHARKNADO REALLY HAPPEN?

While “Sharknado 2” co-star Tara Reid insists a shark-infested tornado could really happen, climatologists are less enthusiastic about the chances. Waterspouts have been known to suck up fish and even small sharks from the sea and carry them inland, but large sharks are just too hefty a load for even for the fiercest waterspout.

As for MLB games being postponed due to extreme natural phenomena, nothing can compare to the earthquake that rattled warmups during Game 3 of the 1989 World Series. The magnitude 6.9 Loma Prieta quake caused an unprecedented 10-day delay in the Series.
