For the actress that wants to make a one-of-a-kind hit on the Oscars red carpet, artist Jennifer Hitchner has just the ticket — a dress made entirely of baseballs.
Assembled from the covers and innards of more than one hundred balls donated by the New York Mets, the dress will be autographed by players before it is raffled off to spring training ticket buyers. Money raised by the ticket sales will go to supporting the Port St. Lucie American Little League Association.

If you want to have an up-close gander at the leathery dress, it will be on display at Tradition Field for Mets spring training games.
BASEBALL BRIDE
Surprisingly, Hitchner’s dress is not the first to try to elegantly evoke America’s Pastime. A bride on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, requested that her wedding gown make her look like a baseball with red-ribbon lace up the back.
