Bryce Harper made his one hundredth homer a memorable one beyond its milestone implications. The ball rocketed off his bat into a upper deck electronic signboard at Nationals Park transforming “Good Humor” into “Good Humo°” (watch closely at the 0:24 mark in the above video). The third inning grand slam — the first of Harper’s young career — gave the Nationals a 4-1 lead over the Braves on way to a 6-2 victory.

Harper, at 23 years, 181 days of age, is the eighth-youngest player to hit 100 home runs. Mel Ott of the New York Giants still holds the record as the youngest to notch one hundred round trippers. In 1931, he reached the mark at 22 years, 132 days old.

100 HOME RUNS AND COUNTING

Last year, Harper become the youngest ever unanimous MLB MVP selection after hitting 42 home runs during the regular season and posting a league-leading 9.9 WAR. He’s off to another good start this season, with three homers and 9 RBIs in 8 games.
