Of all the great players to don a Minnesota Twins jersey, none has contributed more to the team’s success than Rod Carew. Carew accrued 67.4 wins above replacement while tending second base in Minneapolis from 1967 to 1978 — every year of which he made the All-Star team.
MINNESOTA TWINS ALL-TIME ROSTER
While Carew leads the modern-day Twins in WAR, his contribution is less than half that made by Walter Johnson (152.3 WAR), the Hall-of-Fame fireballer who pitched for the franchise’s earlier incarnation as the Washington Senators.
