Bryce Harper’s historic MVP season by the numbers

Outfielder Bryce Harper made history Thursday night without without even stepping into the batter’s box. He become the youngest ever unanimous MLB MVP selection, and first ever MVP from the Washington Nationals.

Harper led the majors in on-base percentage (.460), slugging percentage (.649) and wins against replacement (9.93). Despite missing nine games with injury, he tied for the National League lead in home runs with 42. He is the third-youngest player since 1900 to lead the majors in both OBP and SLG, trailing only the Detroit Tigers’ Ty Cobb (1909) and St. Louis Cardinals’ Stan Musial (1941).
