Last month, after East View High School made up a two-touchdown deficit to edge Vandegrift 42-41, wide receiver Apollos Hester delivered a masterful postgame interview that quickly went viral.

Nearing 8 million views on YouTube, the video garnered the attention of two separate ESPN segments on Hester’s over-the-top enthusiasm.

Naturally, his speech was then given the auto-tune treatment in a sing-song rap called “Scoreboard.”

“You're going to battle. You're going to fight. Win or lose, you're going to be all right. Regardless of the scoreboard, you can do anything you work for.”

HEY COLLEGE RECRUITERS!

Lost in the hoopla over Hester’s speaking skills is the fact that he has shown potential to play at the next level as evidenced by his highlight reel.

MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER

It’s unlikely Hester will ever find himself living in a van down by the river, but if he does, he can parlay his gift of gab into a motivational speaking role a la SNL’s late, great Chris Farley.
