Gymnastics are in Nastia Liukin’s blood. The 2008 Olympic gold medalist for individual all-around is the only child of two former Soviet world champion gymnasts: 1988 Olympics gold medalist Valeri Liukin and 1987 World gold medalist in clubs (rhythmic gymnastics) Anna Kotchneva.

Following in the footsteps of fellow gymnasts Shawn Johnson and Aly Raisman, Liukin brought her world-class moves to this season’s Dancing with the Stars. For her week-four performance, she drew inspiration from her 2008 Olympics floor exercise.

“People told me about the Olympics, but you don't really get the idea until you're there. It is just so huge.”
— Gymnast Nastia Liukin

In Beijing, Nastia scored a 15.525 in the floor to secure the individual all around gold. On DWTS, she turned that Olympic performance into a flawless Argentine tango that earned her the season’s first perfect 10.

DIZZY FOR DISNEY

Liukin and dance partner Derek Hough took a decidedly lighter tack for this week’s performance. The pair danced a jazz piece to “Love Is An Open Door” from Frozen on Dancing with the Stars Disney Night.
