Kerri Walsh-Jennings won her 50th FIVB title on Sunday, cementing her status as the Michael Jordan (Michelle Jordan?) of volleyball. Her dominance in the sport has been so great, for so long, that at some point it may be more appropriate to refer to Jordan as the Kerri Walsh-Jennings of basketball.
Kerri teamed with former Olympic rival April Ross, to win the World Series of Beach Volleyball crown in Long Beach, California. The duo prevailed over a strong Brazil pair in Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas, 21-17, 21-17.
IT’S IN THE GENES (OR SHORTS)
Kerri’s mother was a two-time MVP in volleyball at Santa Clara, University. Kerri’s husband Casey (pictured below) helped lead BYU to the 1999 NCAA National Championship in volleyball, and currently plays beach volleyball on the pro circuit.

The couple have had two boys (Joseph Michael and Sundance Thomas) and one girl (Scout Margery) together. With genes like their’s, don’t be surprised if the children’s names became as familiar as Kerri’s someday.
