The effort was just icing on the cake for the Foxes who finished the season 10 points clear of second place Arsenal.

Leicester defied even the most optimistic of prognosticators by improving upon their 14th place result last year to finish at the top of the Premier League table. Prior to this year, their best ever finish was second place in the 1928-29 Football League First Division.
True royal-blue believers who staked a bet on the Foxes, were paid handsomely for their faith in the club. At the start of the season, bookmakers Ladbrokes and William Hill offered odds of 5,000-1 on Leicester winning the title.

If Leicester’s season was a fairy tale, it was Jaime Vardy that provided the fairy dust which made the team believe it could pull off the impossible.
The five-foot-ten striker from Sheffield scored in eleven consecutive Premier League matches, breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premiere League record. He finished his dream season with 24 goals in 35 appearances.

Before this year, soccer fans outside England were liable to know more about League Two’s AFC Wimbledon (thanks to John Green’s efforts) than Leicester. That’s likely to change with the Foxes joining only five other clubs in history to hoist the Premiere League trophy.
